- ABOUT ME -
I'm Sophie - Style Director and Independent Florist at The Conservatory based in Devizes, Wiltshire.
As a self confessed flower fanatic, I adore roses and any other cottage garden flower.
From late spring to early autumn we also grow our own flowers. We carefully nurture seeds, tubers and perenials until they flourish into the most magnificent, seasonal blooms.
Our flowers are grown in sustainable conditions with a low carbon footprint and are freshly cut to order so there is no waste.
Many of the blooms we grow are planted as visual samples in our front garden where I can gaze at them from my workshop and gather inspiration.
- Who I am (I am a florist) -
As an Independent Florist I run my business The Conservatory from home alongside also being a mum. For a long time I have been fascinated (ok obsessed by) flowers, trees and all things that grow. Nature is my passion, so becoming an Independent Florist in 2017 was a very natural step for me after spending over 10 years working as a teacher.
If you don’t know where I am, I’m outside in the garden talking to the bumble bees.
My natural style is rustic floristry with a vintage twist although I love experimenting with different flower styles and perfecting the latest floral trends alongside creating classic flower arrangements. I’m passionate about local products, home grown English roses and undulating foliage but my floral designs are completely led by the ideas of my customers.
I love nothing better than working closely with you to create a bespoke floral design built around your colour schemes, favourite scents, chosen blooms or seasonal themes. Whether you're dreaming of your perfect wedding day flowers or you want utterly unique table arrangements for a 70th Birthday party - I can create memorable, striking or simple-yet-beautiful floral displays.
Much of my inspiration comes from the bewitching Wiltshire countryside our gardens and my family’s flower patch. I work with fresh flowers sourced from a variety of highly skilled and reliable suppliers. I also grow many of the flowers I use myself which helps add warmth, originality and a unique quality to my arrangements. We have a particulary impressive dahlia catalogue of which I am especially proud.
